Simmons & Broome Ltd. is now actively seeking commisions for future projects. Our primary focus is on wooden boats, whether they be of tradtional or modern design.

We can quote on the construction, repair and restoration of all types of craft. Aside from Prima and Wee Seal, which are detailed elsewhere on this site, the following are some examples of other work with which we have been, or are currently engaged.

Laid Teak Deck - The decking was fitted on a 44' cruising yacht of modern wood construction, custom designed by Bill Dixon. The solid teak planking and covering boards were laid over an epoxy sheathed plywood substrate. The result is a throughly traditional looking deck including carefully fit margins and snaped planking along the king plank.

13' Electric Launch - This launch designed by Andrew Wolstenholm, will be completed and fit out by Simmons & Broome. The cold moulded hull was brought in part-built and is due for completion later this year.

RYA National Albacore - The popular international class dinghy hasn't been produced in wood anywhere in the world for several years. The UK National Albacore Association has generously loaned Simmons & Broome their Woof Mk IV mould so that a handful of hulls can be produced for Albacore enthusiasts who recognise the performance advantage of the cold moulded hull. Of the three common Albacore hull forms, the Woof Mk IV is considered to be the most competitive. Pending RYA license, the hulls should go into production early next year.
